It was late October, and Alex had the date locked for peak fall color. He'd been planning the trip from Texas for months — the Public Garden in full foliage was the one shot he wouldn't compromise on. We mapped the route, timed the light, and stayed in touch right up to the day. He knelt, Kendyl said yes through happy tears, and I caught every second. Afterward, the nerves were gone and we wandered the garden together, all smiles, before heading into Beacon Hill for portraits in the golden afternoon light.
