John reached out months in advance — he didn't want to leave anything to chance. We met up at Fan Pier in the Seaport a few weeks before the day to walk through the full plan in person: the timing, the route, where I'd be tucked away, the backup plan. By the day, John didn't have to think about logistics. He led Hannah down the waterfront, dropped to one knee, and she said yes. The plan was done. He was present. That's how it should feel.
