Proposal · Dartmouth Square, South End
Chris & Samantha
"He was worried about the rain. I told him not to."
Dartmouth Square was always the spot — Chris got in touch early. He wanted somewhere small, off the main streets, away from foot traffic. We mapped every detail in advance: the timing, the path, where I'd be tucked away, the backup if anyone wandered through. Then the day came, and it was pouring. Chris called me worried, ready to call it off. I told him not to think about it — that's my job. We waited for a window in the rain, he led Samantha into the square, and knelt under the trees. She said yes. The square was empty, the light was soft, and the rain actually made it better — quiet, private, theirs. By the time we walked out, the sun was breaking through.
