Your partner never knows I'm there. We plan the spot, the cover story, and the signal together — then I disappear into the scenery and photograph everything, from the walk-up to the first happy tears, before I ever step out to say hello.

Every couple below thought they were on an ordinary walk — through the Public Garden, along the Seaport, past the brownstones of Back Bay — until one of them got down on a knee. I was already in position for each of these long before they arrived.

Check AvailabilityI scout the location ahead of time and pick a position with a clear sightline to where you'll stop — behind a tree line, on a bench with a coffee, or blended in with the tourists already taking pictures. I shoot with a long lens from a distance, so I never need to be anywhere near you to get sharp, full-frame images.
We build the proposal into a day that already makes sense: a walk before a dinner reservation, a detour on a route you two already take, or an outing planned around something else entirely. During the consult I send you a pinned map and reference photos of the exact stopping point, so on the day you're just taking a casual stroll — not hunting for a mark.
We agree on a simple cue beforehand — stopping at the pin, setting down a bag, or a quick glance in my direction. But don't stress about flubbing it: I'm in position and already shooting before you arrive, and once you reach the spot I treat every second as live. Forgetting the signal has never cost a couple their photos.
It happens more often than you'd think, so all planning stays between us through whatever channel is safest for you. On the day itself you won't need to text me at all — I track timing on my end and quietly adjust if you're running late. Your only job is to show up and ask the question.
I stay hidden a little longer. That first minute — the hands over the mouth, the hug, the ring going on — is the most honest part of the whole day, and I photograph it from my hiding spot before walking over to introduce myself. Then we do ring close-ups and relaxed portraits while the adrenaline is still high, and you can FaceTime your families on the spot.
Absolutely — it's one of my favorite reveals. I'll place them out of your partner's sightline, often near my own position, and cue them to come out after the yes. Their reactions become part of the gallery.
Boston weather and foot traffic are part of the plan, not a surprise. Every proposal comes with a backup location that fits the same cover story, and I aim for timing windows when your spot is quietest. If the forecast truly falls apart, we reschedule at no charge — without your partner ever knowing the plan moved.
